Staying in the present moment...
Around our good ol’ country, people are feeling the pressure building up. Tempers are short and there isn’t much grace going around. The cold weather coupled with Eskom outages are adding to the frustration. If you’re working at home you may not be fortunate enough to have an inverter that allows you to continue working, and if you’re in an office park you may be contending with a landlord that has announced there’s a shortage of diesel and they don’t know how long they’ll be able to supply the generator, to please make your own arrangements. The longing to cook or even make a cup of tea, is now a mission. Everyone has a hiccup somewhere and it’s not easy to remain steadfast and positive in an ever-increasing corrupt world.
You may be asking why we are going through these terrible times right now? There’s just anarchy everywhere and people seem to be losing their minds. The thing is, the earth is evolving from the third dimension to the fifth dimension (the fourth being a bridge between the two where one hovers, going back and forth). The transition will end around 2032 and during this time, there will be many changes for humanity. Lower energies need to either step up and either be swept up with the fifth dimension’s purer energies, or stand up and be counted. For those third dimensional beings whose prime path is one of greed, lust, and deceit, they are being exposed. Hence the news is full of the uncovering of corruption. According to some, the head of the octopus has been chopped off, however the tentacles remain. The 8 prominent families who rule the world are being exposed for who they truly are. Those who still operate under their control are being exposed by others who have been caught and slowly but surely, humanity will return to the pure beings who are meant to inhabit the earth.
The shake up is awful, and while you may feel you aren’t part of the evil-doers of the world, you may be caught up in the energies around you. How can you cope as an individual while you’re feeling the enormous pressure right now? I’d like to suggest an exercise I learnt some years ago after leaving a very toxic environment. I was beside myself at the time and didn’t see a way forward, other than losing everything and living under a bridge somewhere with my two cats. Those thoughts stressed me out more than anything else … I had to make a turnaround in life and I used the following exercise to help me.
Take every day is a new day. When you wake up, I’d like you to look at your hands. Really look at them. In that moment you’ll realise that you are in the present moment. It brings you right up to the very second! In that moment, you are going to tell yourself that today you are going to stay in the present day. You are not going to dwell on the past, you are not going to think of anything negative when dreaming of your future, and you are not going to think that you should be further ahead and that you’ve missed opportunities, or dwell on what you don’t have in life. Instead, you will deal with matters in front of you and the matters that you can deal with at the moment. Tomorrow’s worries are tomorrow’s worries.
It may take some time for you to learn this attitude. Everyday start new and try again. You will find that after 2 weeks of doing this that you’ve developed a habit. If you feel that you’re dropping the ball during the course of the day and the old habit of fear comes into your mind, take a moment to look at your hands again and bring yourself back into the present moment.
At the same time while you’re staying in the present moment, I’d like you to develop a mindset that every time a negative thought comes into your mind, that you are going to put it away and that you’ll replace it with something that is positive. At the beginning you may not feel that you are thinking positively. Let’s grow this attitude of gratitude.
Every morning when you wake up, think of 3 things that you are thankful for. You may have a nice warm bed; you can hear the birds outside; you’re looking forward to a nice cup of tea or coffee (electricity permitting). Those are simple things right? Once you’ve got that under your belt, maybe you’d like to increase it to 5 things every morning. Go at your own pace.
Now that helps with positive thinking. You KNOW on a soul level that you are worthy. You are worthy of a good job, of making money, of being blessed, of having good friends, being around people who appreciate you. You need to bring these feelings of worthiness into your mind every day.
How to also help you achieve this, is to listen to upbeat music that encourages you to sing along with it. Not soul-destroying stuff that lends to you becoming morbid and tearful. Something that is uplifting and makes you feel you have dreams and you want them to flow. You can do this in your car, at home, or wherever you feel comfortable.
All these things above are lifting to your spirits and helping you along with your ascension process. Every day may not be a good day, but every day you will go into the day with a new attitude. Know that you are protected and secure. God and the angels have got you. They lift you up above the negativity and destruction of those around you. Look to them for guidance. Don’t look at the “mountain” in front of you.
Also a tip, stop believing those old thought patterns that hold you back. Dump them. You are capable of being healthy, loving, and recognized for who you are. You don’t need to look or weigh a certain way. Those thoughts are hold us back. I urge you again to dump them!
Once you are confident that you are living in the present day, you’ll start to forget the thoughts that hold you back. Your attitude becomes more positive, your outlook more vibrant. When you think of your future desires and them coming into fruition, your heart chakra will expand and you’ll feel a tangible feeling of excitement. Yes, it takes practice but once you’ve harnessed that feeling of love and excitement in your chest, you’ll be able to call it up whenever you think or dream of your future.
Note: Living in the present day doesn’t mean that you shelve your desires or ambitions. It means that you keep yourself in the present day with a positive attitude, not bringing in the fear of the future with thoughts of “What if I fail?” “What if I don’t get the position?” “What if I stay single forever?” “What if … what if?”
It’s far better to choose these questions instead: “What if you succeed?” “What if you land that job?” “What if you meet someone new?” These promote a feeling of excitement, not gloom.
If, for instance, you have a day when you feel down and gloomy and feel the urge to be quiet, then take the gap - stay in bed, watch tv, sulk. When you acknowledge your feelings, it also helps you to process them. So take the opportunity to acknowledge your feelings and hide from the world. You’ll find that once you acknowledge the feelings and don’t suppress them, you don’t stay in that mode for long.
Above all, be kind to yourself. You are the most important person in your life and if you don’t top up your energy, you won’t be much good to you or anyone else!
